RICKY FIRE - ARTISTS ARE LEADERS

Zimbabwean Dancehall chanter Tulani Takavada known in the music circles as Ricky Fire has said artists play a crucial leadership role as they are supposed to identify, develop and nurture future leaders.

"An artist is also a leader!!Wazadzaaa" said the dreadlocked artist on his Facebook post.

Wazadzaa -(he has filled up) is a popular slogan among Zimbabwean citizens.

It became popular after one of Citizens Coalition for Change supporters was recorded on video telling people that  Nelson Chamisa always addresses venues filled to maximum capacity.

Ricky fire has a new album coming for his fans very soon titled "Vachenjeri Vekumabvazuva " Three wise men"

In the past months Ricky fire joined a group of "focused artists" who are calling for leadership change in Zimbabwe

Among those "focused artists" is Australian based urban grooves pioneer artist Lungisani Makhalima better known as Sanii Makhalima, Cucsman the "Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana" hit maker and Taffy The Man.

Most Zimbabwean artist are still afraid to assume their leadership roles and call  political leaders to order through their art.

Most of them fear political victimisation that will eventually see their music banned on state owned radio stations.

Leader artist like Ricky Fire must be applauded for choosing to stand with the suffering masses who are their fans to call for a better Zimbabwe.
