Meet Alex "Mr Choclate"  Mubaiwa  the frontman of a Sungura and Rhumba fusion's 10 extremely talented  member outfit called Extra Kunakirwa .

The Harare based musician is not new in the music industry as he started his music journey way back in 2003.

Mr Choclate has a total of five Albums under his belt.The sweet melodies of sungura beats fused with Rhumba beats makes Mubaiwa's music unique as it appeals to fans of both music genres.

He told this publication that his music is neither sungura nor rhumba music but he calls it Choclate music.

A proper listen to his songs reminded me of yesteryear giants like the late Robson Harrison of the Magumete fame and Peter Tangwena among others.

Lovemore Kurira will release two singles soon

Raggae Gospel artist Lovemore Kurira will be releasing two hot singles soon titled Tiende Kudenga and Ratidza Tsika respectively 

The Nyazura born raggae gospel maestro who is now based in South Africa told this publication that he has reached advanced stages in polishing his upcoming singles with Tiende Kudenga expected to reach your ears sooner than Ratidza Tsika.

Kurira has 5 tracks to his name from the day he started releasing music.

His music is a fusion of Gospel lyrics and deep raggae beats marinated with a sweet and smooth voice.

CUCSMAN PUSHES VOTER REGISTRATION THROUGH MUSIC AND COMEDY

 

Entertainer Cucsman and CCC deputy spokesman Gift Ostallos Siziba

Youthful musician Cucsman has embarked on a bumpy but worthy journey of encouraging Zimbabwean youths to register to vote ahead of the watershed 2023 Zimbabwe harmonised elections.

The Ma C Matatu (Tripple C) hitmaker also does some voter registration skits and lectures on his Facebook Page Cucsman Edutainment where he mainly speaks about why youths must register to vote and vote for change.

His recent single ED Maya a street language for "No to ED"  encourages people to reject the current president and his team for failing to bring any economic change in the Southern African land locked nation ever since they ousted the long-serving late dictator Robert Mugabe through a SADC sanitized coup in November 2017.

Legend Actor Bartlett Dies

 

Jamie Bartlett 

South Africa and the whole world is mourning the death of veteran TV and stage actor Jamie Bartlett.

Bartlett popularly known by his legion of fans as "David Genaro" a character he successfully played in the eTv soapie series Scandal died at the age of 55.

His fellow SA has got talent judge and tv star Somizi Mhlongo who was with Bartlett at 012 Lifestyle Brooklyn said "The way you were greeting everyone including kitchen staff looks like your spirit knew that you had to bid farewell to your followers.

Mhlongo was with Bartlett 12 hours before his death at 012 Lifestyle Brooklyn and he was very healthy and jovial as he has always been.

No details has been released about his death at the time of publishing.

Ricky Fire aka Fire President.

Zimbabwean Dancehall chanter Tulani Takavada known in the music circles as Ricky Fire has said artists play a crucial leadership role as they are supposed to identify, develop and nurture future leaders.

"An artist is also a leader!!Wazadzaaa" said the dreadlocked artist on his Facebook post.

Wazadzaa -(he has filled up) is a popular slogan among Zimbabwean citizens.

It became popular after one of Citizens Coalition for Change supporters was recorded on video telling people that  Nelson Chamisa always addresses venues filled to maximum capacity.

Ricky fire has a new album coming for his fans very soon titled "Vachenjeri Vekumabvazuva " Three wise men"

In the past months Ricky fire joined a group of "focused artists" who are calling for leadership change in Zimbabwe

Among those "focused artists" is Australian based urban grooves pioneer artist Lungisani Makhalima better known as Sanii Makhalima, Cucsman the "Ngaapinde Hake Mukomana" hit maker and Taffy The Man.

Most Zimbabwean artist are still afraid to assume their leadership roles and call  political leaders to order through their art.

Most of them fear political victimisation that will eventually see their music banned on state owned radio stations.

Leader artist like Ricky Fire must be applauded for choosing to stand with the suffering masses who are their fans to call for a better Zimbabwe.

Mduduzi Masilela better known as Mdu,a short cut for his full name is a South African Kwaito artist

He is the founder of Kwaito group  Mashamplani together with Tokollo and Sbu.
